  1. BEST CAMP EVER Dexter Barham

  2. Leaving School A WARM SUN SET THE MOOD FOR A EXTRAORDINARY WEEK. ALL THE YEAR 5’S WERE BUZZING TO GET OUT TO CAMP KAITAWA. We didn’t KNOW WHAT WE HAD TO DO. Go to the most beautiful falls, six hour walks, slippery, sludgy caves, smoky forest and the one and only obstacle course. It was going to be phenomenal.

  3. Monday We were at camp. We put on our comfortable running shoes and got a rain coat and a drink for the first walk. YAY! We got to Green Lake. It was crystal clear, like looking though a glass cup. It was as cold as a ice, brrrr. Then we went to the HUMUNGOUS PIPE LINE. We had to walk up it. It was like carrying a 10 tonne fire truck. YES, we were back at camp. We took our shoes off and went into the dining room for supper. A nice biscuit and a nice hot chocolate and into bed. Night night, sleep tight.

  4. TUESDAY One big YAWN and I woke up, best sleep ever. I got my day pack all ready, got dressed and had some nice honey toast . We got to the six hour walk. We had morning tea at the 800-1000 year old tree then we got a moro bar and then we started to walk again. We were getting close to lunch and then we finally had it. Lunch and 3 hours later we finally got back, had supper and had a good night sleepzzzzzzz.

  5. WENDNESDAY YAY, the first walk was short. 15 there and 15 back. I was buzzing to see the waterfalls. Finally we got to the waterfall. They were so cool. Back at camp we had a nice shower and supper and bedzzzzzz.

  6. THURSDAY CAVE DAY. The first cave was just a warm up, it was cool. All of them were as dark as a pitch black bedroom. We had Fredo frog stops. The workers tried to put concrete down 1000 foot drops but it didn’t work. After we went though all the caves we went to the park. We played a game of rugby kids vs. Parents. It was so much fun. I was going crazy running, tackling and jumping. Then Adam’s mum talked to us about Michele Noonan. Some people called him the headless horse man. Then we went and did our cookout. My group cooked Nachos with the topping of sour cream and some green long thing. Then we had a nice dessert. Then we finished the day with a game of paper scissors rock. I scored one point and then we started to be silly so we went back up had showers and went to bedzzzzzzz.

  7. Home time. We drove home. It was a very long drive home. IT WAS THE BEST CAMP BY FAR! I hope I can do it again.
