    1. Year Two Numeracy Meeting Welcome and thank you for your support.

    2. Maths parents meeting Aims To show what a Numeracy lesson looks like. To inform you of some addition and subtraction objectives for year 2. To look at ways you can help your child at home. 4) To inform you about the SATS process.

    3. Structure of a Numeracy Lesson Oral and mental starter -Is used to revise and revisit learning. Main Teach -Children are involved in direct teaching but with pupil interaction and involvement. Activity Children will practise skills learnt in main teach. Maybe recorded but maybe practical. Plenary To reflect on and evaluate learning.

    4. Why is it different? We want children to enjoy maths. We want children to succeed at maths.

    5. Addition Mental calculations Children are not taught vertical methods of addition : 56 +12
