RUGBY WORLD CUP 2015 • Eighth Rugby World Cup • Hosted in England and Wales, September 18 – October 31 • Third largest global sporting event • Global television audience of over 4 billion • 400,000+ international fans from over 100 countries • Potential economic impact to the UK of approx. £2.1 billion • 20 teams • 48 matches • 13 venues in 11 host cities

VOLUNTEER PROGRAMME • recognises the contribution of existing volunteers within the Rugby Community • utilises the existing RFU infrastructure including its CBs and clubs • has a fair selection process for all based on the shared values of England Rugby 2015 and the RFU • supports legacy aspirations – increasing and sustaining the profile of and participation in rugby

  8. ALLOCATION PRINCIPLES • Two spaces for voting clubs (Three including a Sub) • One space for non-voting club (Two including a Sub) • Each club mapped to a venue

  10. WHAT ROLES ARE AVAILABLE? • All roles critical to the success of RWC 2015 • It’s not all glitz and glamour: you certainly won’t be disappointed but you won’t be pitch side either • Roll your sleeves up, get stuck in and potentially get wet! Teamwork Enjoyment Discipline Respect Sportsmanship

  12. HOW TO APPLY • Application link will be emailed to you for distribution to each club/nominated volunteer • Applicants will apply via the link and usinga unique code

  13. CODES • Each club has a unique code for the one or two nominated volunteers • The Sub from each club will also have aunique code • Treat codes as confidential information • Code leakage – Twitter, Facebook • CBs responsible for verifying applications from club codes

  18. TRY OUTS • A unique experience, creating buzz and excitement for each selected attendee. • An applicant’s first live interaction with the Tournament, offering a friendly and engaging environment, providing the applicants a platform to showcase themselves.

  25. VOLUNTEER INTERVIEW PROGRAMME

Overview and Recruitment • Recruit and train interviewers to attend Try Outs and help secure a fantastic Tournament volunteer team • A chance to get involved and help shape RWC 2015 • Experience of interviewing or a willingness to learn is crucial and knowledge of the Game is important • Recruiting through three main channels • Clubs, CBs and Societies • Universities and Colleges • Local Councils and CSPs

  28. considerations • All members of the VIP need to be aged 18 or over • Must be willing to take part in • a short telephone interview • a local training event • the designated number of shifts for that venue • Experience in, or of, sport • Experience of working with people in a customer-facing role • Is an ambassador of the Core Values and sets an example to the Game
