  6. Chemical Dysfunction • Serotonin- without you will kill • Norepinephine- Compulsive gambling • Testosterone- estrogen causes violence • XYY- Chromosome- males commits crimes because they are more savage

Psychological Theories • Freud- • Unresolved deep seated problesm are psycholpaths, sociopaths, or antisocial personality • No Sense of Guilt, no relations • Psychoanalysis- makes aware of unconscious • Problems • Most criminals are not distrurbed • Psychological problem may not have cause crime

  8. Maslow • Motivation- people are good until changed by their environment • Hierarchy • Self Actualization- be everything you want to be • Esteem • Love Needs • Safety Needs • Physiological Needs • People chose crime because they cant satisfy the need

  9. Oppression • Halleck- crime is several adoptions to the helplessness of oppression. • Objective Oppression • Social- racial discrimination • Interaction- unfair restriction when you were a child • Subjective Oppression • Guilt within • Misunderstood oppression
