  2. Warmup • With a partner: List, in order of effectiveness, 5 different types of contraceptive or birth control methods. Be sure to include both barrier and hormonal methods. • Once you have completed that get into 6 groups of 3-4. Once you have your group come and get materials from me.

  13. What are some symptoms (signs) of STIs? • Burning while urinating (peeing) • Itching • Redness • Bleeding • Sores/bumps • Pain or discomfort • Abnormal discharge from penis or vagina • Fever or flu-like symptoms The most common symptom that happens when a person gets an STI is no symptom.

What could happen if someone had an STI, but didn’t know it? • Can unknowingly pass it to someone else. • Could be causing harm/problems internally – even though there are no external symptoms – or more serious medical concerns if left untreated. • Having one STI puts people at higher risk for contracting (getting) other STIs if they come in contact with them. • Could cause fertility issues (make it more difficult to start a pregnancy) in the future.

  26. Activity • In your group, create an Advertisement bringing awareness to a particular STI including: • Contractibility • Symptoms • Curable • Prevention suggestions • Put everyone’s name on the back of your poster

  27. FRP Peer Review Actions Purpose To get fresh eyes on your work and keep you editing while you write. • 1. Swap your writing with someone near by. • 2. Fill out the peer review form thoroughly • 3. It is totally fine to mark up their paper for spelling and grammar as well. Leave no stone unturned.
