  3. WIA Certification Overview • Federal government requirement • WIA Dislocated Worker and Adult programs • Credentialed training only • Intended as a quality filter and information tool

  4. WIA Certification Overview • Non-certified training can be funded with WIA dollars • Classified as non-credentialed training in our customer tracking system

  5. WIA Certification Overview • WIA eligible program list located on ISEEK.org Search by: School Name Field of Study Location WIA certified training only

  6. New WIA Certification Policy • We now certify instruction labeled as courses on ISEEK • Both credit and non-credit • Examples of non-credit credentials: • Project Management Certificate • Six Sigma Certificate

  7. New WIA Certification Policy • Instruction must still result in a recognized credential • Credentials Exclude: • Certificates of Completion • Course credit

  8. Certified Course Location • Under the course tab on • Flags will look the same for courses and programs

  9. MnSCU criteria for non-credit course certification (DRAFT) 1) This course prepares students to successfully achieve an industry recognized credential. Examples include: AWS, MSSC, A+, Microsoft, 2) This course prepares students to successfully achieve a state license for a given industry. Examples include: LPN, RN, CNA, Real Estate, CDL 3) This course results in an industry recognized credential. Examples include: Six Sigma Black Belt, Six Sigma Green Belt, CDL (if part of course requirement)

MnSCU-DEED Course Certification Process (DRAFT) • MnSCU will collect non-credit credentialed course information • MnSCU will send a list of WIA certifiable courses to DEED and ISEEK • These courses will appear with a WIA flag on ISEEK *MnSCU will perform internal audits of non-credit credentialed instruction to ensure quality
