Warm-Up –Complete in notebook on a left page What does the bold word in each sentence mean? • To complete the class project, all the students must cooperate. • The co-directors of the film are a brother and sister. • What does the prefix co- mean? • Write your own sentence using a word with the prefix co-.

  4. What does Descriptive Structure do? • Describes a person, place, thing, or event. • Gives details about a person, place, thing, or event.

  5. Key Question Ask yourself: “What/who is being described?” Look for simple facts about what is being described.

  8. Let’s Practice... A Modern Day Marvel The Titanic was built in Belfast, Ireland over the course of three years. It cost 7.5 million dollars and took 3,000 men to build the 882 foot ship. Watertight compartments made it “unsinkable” in the event of a collision, and the four funnels were made to make the ship look more grand than most ships of the time. Who/What is being described? What do we know about it now?
