  1. Iceland

  2. Geography As I flew into Iceland I looked out the airplane window and I saw Mount.Haskeroingur. It was very nice and large with a little bit of snow on top of it. I kept looking out the window and I saw Golden Falls. It was like looking at heaven from a very high place. I am going to visit my Great Grandma and I came here all the way from Chicago. It was July and the temp. was about 51 F. I saw lots of glaciers out there, although I did read this book about Iceland and it said that 10 percent of the country is covered with glaciers! Also I read that Greenland, Atlantic ocean, republic Ireland, united kingdom, and Norwegian sea are Icelands relative location. Golden Falls Golden Falls

  3. Culture I had landed on the airport and a nice man opened the airplane door for me. I grabbed my luggage and turned around an there I saw my Great Grandma. I was very happy and I went towards her and hugged her. I was very happy to see her and I hoped into her car. While we were driving I saw a lot of soccer fields and lots of kids playing soccer. I asked my Grandma what sports do people in Iceland play? She said soccer, swimming, handball, basketball and more. I also asked what religion do you practice and what language do you speak? She nicely replied Christian, Lutheran Religion and we speak Icelandic. I was trilled that I finally new that and I still wanted to know more. There was two more questions I wanted to now and it was what is a common food Iceland peopleeat and what holidays do you celebrate? She said fish and seafood, and we celebrate New Years Day , Easter, First Day Of Summer, Labor Day, Fisherman's Day and Christmas Eve. Cool!

  4. Economy We arrived at my Grandma’s house and I walked inside. As I was unpacking, out the window I saw a big truckand it was driving fast. Behind the truck there were more. My Great Grandma walked over to me and said that fishing is the most important export industry. Also she said that here in Iceland manufacturing efforts tend to focus on the fishing industry. After that I had already unpacked all of my stuff and I was ready to go to sleep. Icelandic Fishing Industry

  5. History The next day I woke up and I went to a city called Reykjavik. There was a lot of statues there and they had word on them. They were in Icelandic but my Great Granma translated me them. All of them were about the history of Iceland. Some said in 1262, Iceland became subject to Norway which took control during an Icelandic civil war. They were very interesting but overall this was my last day here in Iceland.

  6. Ending I had lots of fun in Iceland. Right now I am flying in the plane and I can still see a big glacier from this high. But next time I go to Iceland I will defiantly remember to bring a pare of gloves and the warmest hat I’ve got.
