Patient History 71 year old, White, Female. 10> Medications. Latex and Seasonal Allergies. Ulcer on Lower Lip. Minimal Hyperplasia of hard palate. Bipolar, Hypertension, arthritis. Ovarian cyst removed 40 years ago. Nerve damage to left ear.
Lesion Description Patient presents with a single Dark Blue/Gray lesion on the right Buccal Mucosa. The lesion is Flat and asymptomatic with well-defined borders. The size of the lesion is approximately 10cm by 5cm. A Radiograph of the area shows a small radiopaque object In the right cheek area.
Patient Dialogue Have you ever noticed this lesion before? (Yes for awhile) How long has this lesion been there? (since I had work done in the back) Have you ever had Melanoma or Hyper pigmentation? (NO) Have you had any Discomfort or pain in this area? (No, NONE at all) Have you ever had any Trauma in this area? (No, Might have bit my cheek, nothing major)
Diagnosis • PROVISIONAL DIAGNOSIS • Amalgam Tattoo Differential Diagnosis Amalgam Tattoo Melanotic Macule Racial Pigmentation Nevus Melanoma • TREATMENT AND PROGNOSIS • Prognosis is good • No treatment needed for Amalgam Tattoo
