  2. Note to Teachers • This slide show is intended to be used with Reception and Year One children. The learning objective is to enable the children to complete simple addition calculations and to visualise the process. This presentation is intended to be used with a data projector.

  10. The symbol for addition is…..

  11. +

  12. When you add you combine two or more groups of objects.

  13. For example….. 3 bananas add 3 bananas 3 + 3

  14. Equals

  15. 3 bananas add 3 bananas equals 6 bananas.

  16. 3 + 3 = 6

  17. For example….. 2 Bees add 2 Bees 2 + 2

  18. Equals

  19. 2 Bees add 2 Bees equals 4 Bees.

  20. 2 + 2 = 4

  21. Now try this!

  22. 1 Teacher add 2 Teachers equals.. 1 + 2 =
