Procedure for properly using a Bunsen burner: 1) CAUTION: Make SURE all gas valves are closed, before turning on the main gas. 2) Put safety goggles on 3) Obtain a lab burner 4) Connect rubber hose to the lab burner and gas valve, checking for holes or cracks in the rubber 5) Obtain sparker 6) Turn the gas valve on 7) Hold sparker over the top of the burner, and squeeze the handle producing sparks until the flame is lit 8) Adjust the flame's heat, by turning the air valve on the burner tube
