Letters to Coaches • Email may be better than handwritten • 1st Paragraph: Introduce yourself and express your interest in the school • 2nd Paragraph: Include something you know about the school. Make it personal! • 3rd paragraph: Ask for more information; Attach your resume; Inform of any upcoming games, tournaments etc.
Getting Seen • Showcase Tournaments • Coaches Attending Lists • Tournaments or games in the coach’s area • Game tapes • Combines
Recruiting Reminders • The players recruit themselves • Keep in constant communication • Spell everything correctly • Send follow up emails and thank you’s • Students can make unofficial visits at any time
Recruiting Reminders (cont.) • Official visits can only be made in June or after of athletes senior year • Players can email coaches at any time. • Coaches can electronically contact players in the summer before their junior year • Start early
