  2. Classroom Rules, Consequences, and Rewards • Rules: • Be Safe, Be Responsible, Be Respectful, Be REBELS • Consequences: • Loss of “Boeck Bucks” • Loss of Privileges • Detention with Teacher • Rewards • “Boeck Bucks” • Gain Privileges • Extra Recess

  3. Hallway Routine • Walk, don’t run or speed walk. • Walk quietly. No noisy feet. • Keep hands and feet to yourself and off walls. • Stay to the right of the hallway. • Look forward. • No jumping to touch doorways. • No bouncing balls.

  4. Morning Routine • Hang up backpack and coat. • Grab your homework, parent folder (on Mondays), and planner. • Turn in homework in baskets by my desk. • Turn in parent folder in the basket by the mailboxes. • Get your chair. • Fill out planner with ALL assignments on the board.

  5. Boeck Bucks • Boeck Bucks are “Monopoly Money” that can be spent at the Treasure Box. • You will receive money for: • Having your folder signed by your parent each night: $20 • Good Behavior: $ Varies • You will lose money for: • Not having your planner signed by your parent each night: $20 • Not turning in homework: $50 • Unwelcoming Behavior: $ Varies • Rent • $100 each month for your desk; $50 each month for your locker.

  6. Quieting of class • When you see my hand or I say “Give me Five”: • 1. Freeze & Raise your hand. • 2. Give me five good listening skills: • 1. Sit/Stand up straight and tall. • 2. Keep hands and feet still. • 3. Watch with your eyes. • 4. Keep lips closed • 5. Listen with your ears. • 3. Turn and face me; pay attention; and keep your eyes on me. • 4. Be ready for instruction. I will have something important to say.

  7. Rebel Time • When the teacher is on the phone, out of the room, or when the teacher says “Rebel Time.” • There is absolutely no talking during Rebel Time. • The Chief of Police is in charge until the teacher returns. • Any talking during Rebel Time will result in the loss of Boeck Bucks or letters missing from QUIET. • QUIET is on the board every morning. Every letter left at the end of the day will result in 2 points towards our class total. If I have to put up a second QUIET throughout the day, it is an automatic -10 points and every letter after that is -2 points out of the class total.

  8. Voice levels • Voice Level 0 = No Talking. • Voice Level 1 = Partner Voice – no one but the person you are talking to should hear you. • Voice Level 2 = Class Presentation Voice. • Voice Level 3= Recess Voice.

  9. Classroom Jobs • You will receive $20 every night that you have completed your job.

  10. When you need help • In a whisper, ask the two people on either side of you. • If you all have the same question, please raise your hand and I will come help you. • If I am not working with a student, you may come to my desk to ask for further help or raise your hand and I will come to you.

  11. Movement of papers Routine • Papers will be handed out by either the teacher or the student who is Fed-Ex. • Please do not talk while papers are being handed out so you don’t miss important information. • Please immediately put your name and number on your paper. • Work quietly, remembering to be respectful to others. • When finished, quietly turn in paper in hand-in slots and quietly return to your seat.

  12. Corrections Routine • Quietly come up to my desk and pick up your corrections. • Please return to your seat and try to correct your mistakes. • If you are confused, please follow the procedure for if you need help. • Please check that you completed all corrections. • Turn in corrected work in correct slot. • Return to seat and work on seat work.

  13. Restroom Routine • Please use the restroom before school begins, at recess, and at lunch. • Please put the correct sign on your desk. • You do not need to ask to use the restroom. • You may not use the restroom if I am giving instructions. • Please be quiet in the bathroom; do your business, wash your hands, and quietly return to class.

  14. Going to lunch • When it is time for lunch, I will tell you to wash your hands or use hand sanitizer. • After washing, please quietly line up at the door. • When in line at lunch, please face forward, hands to yourself, and use your voice level 1 if you need to speak. • ALWAYS USE PLEASE AND THANK YOU!

  15. What can I do when I’m done? • Finish Homework • Read a book • Work on any weekly projects • Work quietly at your desk • Computers

  16. If the teacher’s out of the classroom. • Remain on task while the teacher is out of the room. • Classroom rules and procedures are followed as you continue your work. • Chief of Police is in charge until the teacher returns. • No talking while the teacher is gone from the room. • Visit Mrs. Taylor or the office if there is a problem that can’t wait until I return.

  17. End of day • Make sure you have crossed off finished assignments and highlighted homework. • Fed-Ex will pass out folders (on Thursdays). • I will call you up one at a time to sign your folder and the banker will pay you on Thursdays. Otherwise the Banker will pay you for your jobs every evening. • Grab any information that is in your mailbox (on Thursdays). • Stack chairs or put them on your desk (only after the cleaners have sanitized your desk). • Clean up the floor. • Do daily jobs. • Exit slips.
