Teaching Strategy Used: Reading, Discussion, Questioning, Annotation, Modeling Formative Assessment: Annotations / Discussion, EXIT SLIP Core Standards Covered: CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RI.8.1 Cite the textual evidence that most strongly supports an analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text. Literacy.SL.8.1 Engage effectively in a range of collaborative discussions (one-on-one, in groups, and teacher-led) with diverse partners on grade 8 topics, texts, and issues, building on others’ ideas and expressing their own clearly.

AGENDA Discuss Bell Ringer Continue with Peaks and Valleys Work Create Rough Draft of Peaks and Valleys Begin Final Draft using unlined paper, markers, crayons, ink, or colored pencils FINAL DRAFT DUE THURSDAY – BEGINNING OF CLASS PERIOD! Learning Target: I CAN recall the age I was when each event happened in my life. I CAN arrange those events in order on an X/Y axis chart to show the Peaks & Valleys of my life. ICAN create an X/Y Axis chart to present to my classmates about my life. Teaching Strategy Used: Small Group - Modeling Assessment: X-Y Chart being created

I CAN analyze Mrs. Lindsey’s/Mrs. Clark’s life through her Peaks and Valleys Chart, using FRAMEWORK NOTES.
