Step # 1 The server, the person on the other side of the court, is the starter. He/ she is the one who starts to deliver the ball. His/ her opponent is called the receiver.
Step # 2 The server starts to serve behind the baseline (the white line). The server must not serve until the receiver is ready.
Step # 3 The receiver can stand wherever they like but they must let the ball bounce on the service boxes once before hitting the ball. If they hit before the ball bounces on the service box (es), the opponent gets one point. But when the ball don’t hit the service box, a second service is being done. But if the ball doesn’t hit the service box for the third serve, the opponent gets points. But if either of them hits the ball before it bounces in the service box, the server gets the point.
Points The first point is 15, the second point is 30 and the third point is 40 (it used to be 45).

History of Tennis • Most historians credit the origins of the game of tennis to the 11th or 12th century French monks who would play a handball game, and took on the name jeu de paume, meaning “game of the hand.” • The word tennis may have derived from the French word tenez, which idiomatically means “let’s play” or “take this.” • As the game became more popular, bare handed play moved to the use of leather gloves. • Following this technique, webbing or the use of a solid paddle became standard. • As the game evolved, the use of webbing in the paddle became popular, resembling the racquet used today. • The ball was made of wood, wool, or cork and was wrapped in sting or a leather ball filled with air. • The rubber ball came with the introduction of lawn tennis the late 1800’s, using vulcanized rubber. The game of tennis game became popular in France by the royal family and caught on from there, worldwide.
