  2. What is a Patroness Member? A Patroness Member is … A woman who supports the arts in her local community and is interested in becoming involved with a local SAI Chapter.

  5. In the early years … Patroness members wore the regulation membership badge

  6. In 1925 … The Patroness Badge was introduced

  7. In the beginning … Patroness members were only initiated by Collegiate Chapters

  8. In 2000 … Alumnae chapters were permitted to initiate patroness members AND Provide specific educational training

  9. Patroness Fraternity Education Course Developed in 2009 Utilized by alumnae chapter VPM to train current and/or prospective patroness members who desire training

  10. FAQ’s Q: Who can train current or prospective patroness members using the prescribed Fraternity Education Course? A: Alumnae chapters ONLY

  11. FAQ’s(continued) Q: Where do I find the Fraternity Education Course? A: SAI Website or Officer Portal

  12. FAQ’s(continued) Q: A patroness member, who has been initiated by a collegiate chapter, wishes to become active with the local alumnae chapter, what are her options?

  13. FAQ’s(continued) A: She may become a non-affiliated member of that chapter but is not permitted to hold office or vote. OR She may receive training from the alum chapter VPM. Upon completion of training and approval from NH, the alum chapter would conduct the Affiliation Ceremony to make her a member of their chapter

  14. FAQ’s(continued) Q: Our alumnae chapter has a current patroness member who was previously initiated without training. She now wishes to be trained and become more active with the chapter. After she is trained, what do we do?

  15. FAQ’s(continued) A: Once the patroness member is trained, using the Fraternity Education Course, notify NH as to the change in her status. No initiation or affiliation ceremony is conducted since she is already a member of your chapter.

  16. FAQ’s(continued) Q: A patroness member with training has moved into our area and wishes to join our alumnae chapter. What is the next step?

  17. FAQ’s(continued) A: Complete the “Application for Affiliation” form, available on the national Website and OP. Submit this form to NH. Upon receiving approval from NH, the alumnae chapter will conduct the Affiliation Ceremony, making her a member of your chapter.
