  1. Welcome Course II Science Comprehensive (Physical, Life, & Earth) Ms. Braget Room #109

  2. This year in Science Course II: • Students will learn various scientific investigation techniques. • Student studies will concentrate on: • Demonstrate knowledge of the forms of energy and energy transfer • Explain how scientists study Earth’s past • Describe principles of genetics, heredity, and diversity • Ecology focusing on human impact .

  3. Grading Students' grades are bases on a percentage of total points earned for the semester. • Classwork 30% • Quiz 10% • Tests 40% • Homework 10% • Projects 10%

  4. Late Work Policy • Complete/Correct homework on time = 100% • Completed/Correct homework one day late = 75% • Complete/Correct homework two or more days late = 50% • Students are responsible for getting make up assignments upon return • Make-up work must be turned in on time to be graded in accordance to the student handbook

  5. Projects • All students will be required to complete a Science Fair Project • This will be due in following Christmas Break on return to school in January. • Students will be required to complete phases of this project throughout the first three grading periods. • Use the Science fair Blackboard website or www.gcsjsciencefair.weebly.com to help you through your Science Fair Project.

  6. Computers • The use of these computers will be an integral part of the science curriculum. • Projects will require students working outside of class hours. • Students not having computers to use at home may use school assets in the morning before school begins or assets available in the community.

  8. Tutoring • Will be available after or before school by appointment • The National Junior Honor Society also offers peer tutoring by appointment.
