  2. Goal of The Rockefeller University Center for Clinical and Translational Science • Translate new scientific discoveries into improved health

  3. Administration • Insure Rockefeller University compliance with all regulatory, financial and award related administration of the Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) • Plan and execute all NIH competing and non-competing applications and site visits

  4. Administration Continued… • Insure active participation in all national oversight and subcommittees of NCRR/NIH as they pertain to CTSA • Recruit new faculty and staff • Insure protection of human subjects and patient safety • Provide oversight of high quality research

  8. CCTS Success • Development of KL2 Virtual application room • Production of iRIS Study management tool and Review board products • Expansion of Community Engagement, Recruitment and Outreach Activities (CDN)

  9. CCTS Success • Establishment of a Department of Clinical Research Coordinators (CRC) within PCIR • Utilization CTSA resources to support language translation services

  10. CCTS Success • Development of Immune monitoring core facility • Development of metabolic assessment laboratory • 4 KL2 Clinical Research Scholars • 2 new Medical Students • 9 Pilot Projects Funded

  11. Barriers/Challenges • Staffing • Implementation of an effective community outreach program • Budgetary changes (indirect cost rate change, 2.9% reduction in U award)

  12. Moving Forward • Complete staff recruitments • Continue progress in Information Technology, governance, and communication • Continue to develop a core of highly trained CRC’s • Ongoing enhancement of community outreach and participant recruitment • Focus on Clinical Scholar and faculty recruitment • Continue collaboration across CTSAs and with NIH/NCRR
