  1. Better at Timesheets Friendly Reminders

  2. Thank you…. When you get your timesheet done on time and accurately, you help us: • Save time re-entering time into the right job numbers (Both CSE’s and admin.) • Report financial results for the company in a more timely manner. • Invoice our customers more accurately and in a timely manner. • Plan resources.

  3. What we will and will not cover today… You will not be dragged step-by-step through entering your time in C&P. (If you need help come see me.) You will be gently reminded about a few things that most everyone seems to get wrong once in a while—just trying to raise your awareness. You also will learn about a few new things that will be done to help you get your timesheet done more accurately.

  4. Gentle Reminders… • Use the right job numbers—check in with your CSE if needed. • Please enter useful information in the Notes section…this helps CSEs keep track of whether the time is in the right job. • Switch databases when necessary—this is an area where cutting corners makes more work for CSEs and admin.

  5. Gentle Reminders… • When entering your time, please go to the Accounting drop down and select Timesheets. DO:Pull down the accounting menu to time sheets or key stroke the short cut (z6 or Ctl 6) DO NOT:Click on the time icon in the information center.

  6. Gentle Reminders… • Please be sure to check if the Period is correct. The period needs to match the month for the time you are entering. If the Period is incorrect, please change it.

  7. Gentle Reminders… Changing the Period can be done by clicking on the gray box (or the small arrow on a MAC). Then, click on the new Period.

  8. What we will do to help you… • “How to” sheets. If you need a reminder “How to” do something in C&P there are resource sheets in Deanna’s public folder. (I have some handy if anyone needs one today.) • Time Worksheet & Task Codes. Also in the C&P folder is a blank time worksheet form if you need it and a page that explains task codes and their use.

  9. What we will do to help you… • Job sheet access. Beginning on Monday, the WhereRU/Timesheet reminder email will include an attachment of all the open jobs. Save it. Print it out. Use it. • Email reminders. An email reminder will continue to be sent out monthly to let you know when your time needs to be entered AND an email reminder will also continue to be sent out the morning timesheets are due

  10. What we will do to help you… • Switching Database. An optional course Switching Databases: How To will be offered to anyone who may benefit from this review.

  11. One more thing…. People not doing their timesheets is really a problem. I’ve tried reminding, begging, rewards in the form of buying donuts, threats of no paycheck—what else can be done to get people to do their timesheets? Please send ideas or thoughts. I welcome your input.

  12. Ending Where I Started… Again, thank you for your cooperation. Thank you for doing your timesheets.
