  2. Description Garden Agriculture Technician works in the field of producing and marketing fruit vegetables and partly decoration plants.

  3. Tasks Garden technician works under the supervision of agricultural engineers, specializing in the field of gardening. He works in the jobs of, pruning, sorting, fertilizing, spraying with scientific methods. He conducts researches to grow fruit and vegetables with scientific methods. Takes measures to protect fruit and vegetable against diseases. Tries to find solutions to problems that may be experienced related to packaging and marketing.

  4. TOOLS MACHINES AND THE EQUIPMENT Tractor, Soil processing equipment, Pruning equipment, Vaccination equipment.

  5. REQUIRED PHYSICAL PROPERTIES   Anyone who wants to be a garden agriculture technician should bear following physical properties. He/She must be interested in science and has to be successful especially in bioloji. Likes working in open air areas. Have to be healthy and fit to be able to work in gardens and fields.

  6. WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS Garden Agriculture Technician does all his works outside. At his work, he is always in cooperation with Agriculture technicians, Agriculture Engineers and the farmers in the neighbourhood.

  7. WORK FIELDS AND OPPORTUNITIES TO FIND A WORK Garden agriculture technicians work in both public and private sector, in agricultural enterprises. They can also establish their own garden and greenhouse businesses. Garden Agriculture is a profession that is always needed.

  8. WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS In the gardening sector, garden agriculture technicians work in the humid, both indoor and outdoor areas. Sometimes they have to work outside in all seasons, so they have to have a healthy, and strong body. The ones who work indoors will spend most of their day in the places where humidity is very high, so they always have to be careful against the illnesses such as asthma and rheumatism.

CURRENT SITUATION AND ITS FUTURE Gardening & Horticulture; is a field of study where individuals are given basic knowledge and skills about the seedlings / saplings production for fruit, vegetables and ornamental plants are done with different methods in the greenhouses and open fields. It is the place where produced seedling / sapling cultivation, cultural maintenance and harvest is done, landscaping projects are read and applied, and also is the area where the various flower arrangements are done.

  10. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Anyone who wants to make a career in Gardening & Horticulture must be successful at Maths and Science, especially in botanic. They must enjoy working both indoor and outdoor areas, have aesthetic insight, developed manual skills, can create colour harmony, sensitive for art and environment, is meticulous, have work discipline, good at human relations, curious, planned and well organised, careful about taking orders, recording and is open to new developments in his field. Beside these qualifications, they have to; be careful., apply safety precautions,  obey the rules when using a machine, respect human rights and be democratic, conform to the rules of ethics about his job, avoid wasting materials, be punctual, have advanced visual skills  be patient,  can adapt to flexible working hours.

  11. EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES Cut flowers, indoor ornamental plants, outdoor ornamental plants, fruit and vegetable growers set up their own businesses or work in private enterprises. Cut flower growers can also work in the florist stores, cut flowers cooperatives and in the municipalities, parks and gardens departments. Outdoor ornamental plants growers can work in the plantation centres, landscaping firms, parks and gardens directorates, supermarkets, plants departments, forestry directorates and water supply networks. Landscaping gardeners can work as an instructor in the landscaping firms, big hotels and tourist resorts, factories and in the state directorates of forestry, water supply, highway construction. Flower organizers establish their own businesses or work as an instructor in private enterprises and flower stores, in big hotels, cut flowers cooperatives, the provincial directorates of agriculture, research institutes, municipalities, parks and gardens, with offices
