  4. Compassion Feeding the 5,000 John 6: 5-9 Great company How do we feed them? Philip – 200 pennyworth too small Andrew – boy with 5 loaves and 2 fishes

  5. Orderliness Feeding the 5,000 Mark 6:39,40 “And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass. 40 And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.” 1 Cor. 14: 40 “Let all things be done decently and in order.”

Thanksgiving Feeding the 5,000 Mark 6:41 “And when He had taken the five loaves and the two fish, He looked up to heaven, blessed and broke the loaves, and gave them to His disciples to set before them; and the two fish He divided among them all.” Recognized God as the source of all good things Jas. 1:17 “cometh down from the Father….”

  10. Conservation Feeding the 5,000 John 6:12-13 gather up the left-overs 12 baskets filled Plenty of bread but none to waste

  11. Lessons Learned Feeding the 5,000 Typifies the Lord Jesus is the bread of life Displays His power Multitudes hungry for bread of life Millions never heard Gospel sustains the soul

  12. Lessons Learned Feeding the 5,000 Jesus can meet every need Healed their sick – food for body - taught Will supply our physical and spiritual needs Jesus can make use of what we have Boy had a small amount of food He records little things we do Bring what we have

  13. Lessons Learned Feeding the 5,000 Jesus worked in orderly manner Sit down in companies of 50 and 100 Order in teaching - Mt. 5:1 “he was set” 1 Cor. 14:40 Jesus gave thanks for food Jn. 6:11 We should give thanks for our food

  14. Lessons Learned Feeding the 5,000 Jesus taught a lesson on thrift Gather up fragments Nothing should be wasted Use our possessions time talents

  15. Feeding the Five Thousand • Multitude – hungry for food - spiritual food • Disciples carried to people – we take gospel • Multiplied in hands of Jesus – our talents • Filled and satisfied – come to Christ
