  7. What to do after note cards are done: • Organize the cards: Once you finish creating your note cards, you will then SORT them according to CODE. This will help you create the flow of your evidence in your paper. • Number them in the bottom LEFT corner so you don’t lose the order. • Create your basic outline using the note cards as a guide • Remember: Thesis statement should be a one sentence guide to what you are proving. • You can change the topics if need-be, you can add topics on the back if need-be. • Rough Draft (we will hand-write this in class) • Write the term paper following the note card and basic outline sequence • Use topical, concluding, and transitional sentences to link the information on the cards Remember our focus: HEROISM! How is this person’s life and work heroic?

  8. Introduction with Thesis • Introduction: hook, briefly introduce topic, and thesis(tells the reader what the entire paper is about). • Most people are familiar with the advances in science made by Albert Einstein and Sir Isaac Newton. Few people, however, know of the two time Nobel Prize winner who discovered a new element that was added to the periodic table—mainly, because she was a woman. Marie Curie, with the help of her husband, discovered radium in the early 1900’s. Marie Curie is a heroic figure because of her family, education, and work.
