  3. What is VoIP • VoIP- Voice over Internet Protocol • Uses same network cabling as computers • Calls go out our system to phone service provider- McLeod, Qwest, ICN • Has potential for more features

  4. Overview of Migration • Currently - CBIS, Res Halls, MP, new office-400 • By Dec 23- FM Center • Jan- meetings w/Enrollment Services • Feb- implement in Enrollment Services • Summer 2006- Keokuk • Fall 2006- WB- by department

  5. Why New System • Hard to find parts for old • New systems moving to VoIP • Currently implemented in part of college

  6. Benefits to College • Savings- long distance, lines • Calls to MP, FM will be local • Reduced maintenance cost • Maintain one network

  7. Benefits to User • Extension to extension to all centers • Direct inward Dial (DID) • Callers can call directly to your phone • Ex 208-5002 (Bruce Huddleson) • Potential new features

  8. Changes for User • New extension • DID (ex. 208-5002) • Business cards • Publications- catalogs, web site, more
