  3. Overview The unit is composed of modules (made of aluminum) which, once deployed, covers an area of approximately 360 square meters. These modules are containers (international standard measures 20 feet) type with an insulating coating that protects them from the weather.

  4. MISSION TO PROVIDE HEALTH CARE WITHIN SANITARY DISASTER AREAS, EMERGENCY AREAS OR COMBAT AREAS, OPTIMALLY, TIMELY AND IN COMPREHENSIVE MANNER, IN LOCATIONS AND OPPORTUNITY AS REQUIRED IOT HELP THE EFFECTIVE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE ASSIGNED MISSION.

Duringtheearthquake… During the first 72 hours, the HMR carried out the following activities: 147 operations were performed. 38 highly complex and 109 minors 664 wounded were attended: 387 Haitians and 227 UN members A morgue was enabled in a cold store which was normally used for stockpiling supplies.

  18. RMH Assistance to the Chilean Earthquake • In response to the earthquake that struck Chile in February 2010, on March 3 began the process of Humanitarian Assistance. • On March 3 a HMR and its staff were transported by C-130 Hercules and a Fokker F28, units belonging to the Argentina Air Force . • The first group is composed of 34 troops and settled in the town of Curico. • On March 6 the HMR starts primary health care. • The final location was in Curico, south of Santiago, and two more health units in Parral, near Concepcion. • The unit worked operatively from March 6 to 26 September in response to villagers affected by the disaster, suffered various diseases as a crisis of stress, dehydration, burns, hypertension, bronchitis, diabetes, gastritis and orthopedic injuries. • They also reached 500 trucks with humanitarian aid.
