Mutations Mutations is when there is a mix up in the DNA match up. Although the word mutations may sound horrifying but they are not always bad some mutations maybe for the best. For example; when a persons DNA structure is messed up it may cause retardation, or deformities. A good example is when your dogs hair gets thicker in the winter.
Sexual reproduction this is when males and females come together to reproduce. This allows lots of variations to take place in a person or even an ecosystem. This is the main factor for variations when the 2 parents come together. For example; a mom has dark hair and the dad has light hair there is a chance the offspring will have either dark, light or in the middle.
Number of variations In the whole world (of people) there is about 2^46 types of variations. but for yourself alone you maybe able to pass down 2^23 different types of variations. you might have a kid with light eyes long eye lashes and short legs an, ect. There are people how may have the same eye color but every thing maybe different.
Definitions stomatic cells: are all the cells in the body other then sex cells (ex; muscle, eyes, nails, and hair) Germ cells: are sex cells (ex; sperm cells and eggs) Homologues: is when you have the same genotype but not the same phenotype. (ex; legs, arms, and ears Genotype: is a gene (hair, eyes, knees and legs) Phenotype: is a description of a gene (long legs brown hair and green eyes)
Cross over This is when the x chromosome and the y chromosome mix and match with each other. This causes many different variations for many organisms.
