  4. What is the subjunctive? Uncertainty FEARS HOPES ADVICE OPINIONS WISHES

  5. Look at the following examples… Ellosviven en Puerto Rico Es buenoqueellosvivan en Puerto Rico. They live in Puerto Rico. It’s good that they live in Puerto Rico. WHICH ONE IS UNCERTAIN (not factual)?

  6. Do we need the subjunctive? I likechicharrones. It’s dangerous to play chess. I am so pretty! It’s sad that I am so pretty. We eat Taco Bell. She thinks that Taco Bell is nasty. I think that you should study more. I recommend that she pays me now! No Sí No Sí No No Sí Sí

  7. How do we form the subjunctive? STEP 1: Go to the yo form, present tense of the verb. STEP 2:Remove the “o”. STEP 3: Add “opposite ending”. AR E ER / IR  A COMo COM- COMa

  8. Try to form these subjunctive verbs • Tener (nosotros) • Bailar (yo) • Llegar (tú) • Traer (él) • Relajar (usted) tengamos baile llegues traiga relaje

  9. You try: vengamos juegues hable bese corran busque veas cruce • Venir (nosotros) • Jugar (tú) • Hablar (María) • Besar (yo) • Correr (lasamigas) • Buscar (ella) • Ver (tú) • Cruzar (mi madre)
