Symbiotic • A symbiotic relationship is a relationship where both participant species benefit mutually. • Ants and caterpillars because the caterpillars have sweet chemicals that the ant feeds on, in return the ant protects the caterpillar. • Canopy trees and the agouti benefit because the agouti eats the seeds from the tree it also scatters the seeds through the forest causing a new generation of trees.

  5. Trophic Levels • Starts with plants, or other autotrophs. • Primary Producers are eaten by the herbivores ( Primary Consumers) • Herbivores eaten by Carnivores and Omnivores ( Secondary Consumers) • Secondary consumers can be eaten by any other carnivores called tertiary consumers. • When any organism dies it can be eaten by tiny microbes and exchange of energy continues.
