Why should I have a 403(b)? Will you have enough retirement to live they way you want to live? With ORP: The amount you’ve accumulated into your retirement account With TRS: Best 5 (or 3) years of salary + years of service X the multiplier which is .23%.
EXAMPLE: TRS calculation Employee Earnings:$2,953.09 gross per month $32,455 + $33,428 + $35,434 + $37,560 + $38,312 = Five Year Average $177,189 / 5 = $35,437 Employees Years of Service: 25 years 25 years x .023% = 58% x $35,437 / 12 = $1,698.03
