  14. Nuance • Noun • A subtle or slight variation (as in color, meaning quality), delicate gradation or shade of difference; shade, nicety, refinement • Someone’s uncles married identical twins. That uncle’s nephew has a hard time telling the difference between his “nuaunts” (for nuance)

  15. Overweening (adj). Conceited, presumptuous; excessive, immoderate. Joseph Biden is a prime example of a candidate who is arrogant. Overweening= Over confident soon to be vice president.

  16. Penchant • (n) a strong attraction or inclination • To have a passion for something • Passion - Penchant

  17. Reputed • (adj.) according to reputation or general belief; having widespread acceptance and good reputation • Like having a “rep” or to “represent”

  18. Sophistry • Sounds plausible but is actually unsound • Soph- sophisticated… it would make sense if it meant that but it doesn’t

  19. Sumptuous • (adj.) costly, rich, magnificent **SUMptuous- larges SUMs of money give you magnificent things, and you become rich Buy magnificent things

  20. Ubiquitous (adj.) present or existing everywhere Syn: omnipresent, pervasive, universal Ant: restricted, limited, rare, scarce In Washington D.C., there is a ubiquitous homeless population.
