2.The two patterns’ meanings are different. We use ‘of’ and ‘for’ in different sentences. If the adjective in the sentence is used to describe sb., we use the prep. ‘of’. If the adjective in the sentence is used to describethe infinitive ‘to do sth.’,we use the prep. ‘for’.

Pay attention to differences among : too…to; …enough to; so…that… and the exchanges.
too + adj. + to do sth. 1). “太……而不能……”, 2). 否定意义 3). 形容词后面跟不定式. The boy is too young to join the army. adj. + enough to do sth. 1). “足够…… 以致于能够……”, 2). 肯定意义 3). enough在这作副词,修饰形容词时要后置, 其后也跟不 定式.(enough用作形容词修饰名词时, 前后置都可以.) The boy is notold enough to join the army. so + adj.+ that -clause… 1). “如此……以致于能够……” 2). 肯定意义 3). 形容词后面跟表示结果的状语从句. The boy is so young that he can’t join the army.
Notice 用 enough to和 so…that代替too…to时, 要用否定句形式. 同时, enough所在句中的形容词要用原句中形容词的反义词. e.g. The room is too small to hold so many people. = The room is notbigenough to hold so many people. = The room is so small that it can’t hold so many people.
