  4. Learning Center Services Services we provide: • Tutoring • Make-up testing • Educational Resources • Placement Testing (HKATC) • Distance Education test proctoring (HKATC) • Ed Tech/ Computer Access and Internet Access

  6. Reminders for TLC Staff • Ask students to sign-in/out • Staff sign in/out if not working • Copy Machine- TLC use only, sign log (see office staff for copies) • Homework on duty not allowed (help and learn other areas) • Break Area - Please keep clean • Keep noise level down (4 feet)

  7. Reminders Continued • Phones - limit personal calls to 3 minutes • Absenteeism/lateness - please call the Office • No make-up hours will be allowed • Turn off Cell phones and pagers • Update your personal information • No food or drinks in lab area

Specialist – English tutoring and General TLC support Center Manager & Ed. Specialist– Hale Kea Advancement and Testing Center 1. All Testing Activities – Placement, Make up, Dist. Ed. Community 2. Facilities 3. Budget/Payroll records

Responsibilities continued Student Tutors - “Proactive Approach” seek out and help Students, Faculty, Staff • Integrate Learning Skills when tutoring to promote independence • Orient new students to the Center • Assist disable and handicap • Familiarize yourself with other areas • Help at the front desk if requested • Help keep the Center neat & clean

  12. Tutors continued • Assist students w/ Study Skill resources , Math videos, Nursing/Science • Assist students with computer questions • Help enforce rules of the Center • Read Tutor Handbook (There’s one on each desk and web site)
