  2. Summary • University of Banja Luka has founded 1975. • Largest University in Republic of Srpska and second largest in Bosnia and Herzegovina • About 17.000,00 enrolled students • About 970 employees • Non-integrated model of university/ faculties have a full legal subjectivity (LB)

  3. University is consisted of 13 faculties: • Academy of Arts • Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering • Faculty of Economics • Faculty of Electrical Engineering • Faculty of Mechanical Engineering • Medical Faculty • Faculty of Agriculture • Faculty of Law • Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics • Faculty of Technology (Food Science and Food Engineering, Chemical Enngineering) • Faculty of Philosophy • Faculty of Forestry • Faculty of Physical Education * 55 different study groups / diplomas

  4. Legislative frame for changes • In September 2006th new Law on HE in Republic of Srpska! • New period in reform of HE and development of University of Banja Luka. • “Concept of integrated university” accepted. • Awarenessof changes.

  5. Organizational aspect • Larger role of central bodies ( Rector, Senate, Office for QA and ECTS, ….). • Council for Accreditation (institutional accreditation and accreditation of study programs). • Commission for Recognition Foreign Diplomas (promotion of student’s mobility).

  6. Activities at University • New curricula (first cycle) adopted in all Faculties. School year 2006/07. started with new programs. • Several faculties are preparing curricula for second (master) cycle, together with other BiH Universities. • New Statute of University and other documents has done. • ECTS system fully implemented.
