First, forget what people have told you about a presentation
Why? • Everything you have been told is wrong
What a presentation is not • Pictures that have been copied and pasted to slides • Reading slides to the audience • Adding funny animations to make the presentation interesting • Bore the audience with so much information that you put them to sleep
What a presentation is … • Giving the audience an interesting idea you want them to know about in an engaging manner • You present the information to the audience, but you do not read it • You take the audience into an adventure in order to convince them or inform them • It is almost like a show
1st Step Begin writing what you know about your topic • To get ideas • To have a starting point
