  4. 1. Downhill • The longest type of downhill race • the fastest time • turns, jumps and straightaways.

  5. 2. Slalom • a short course with sharp turns • go down the run twice – • the two race times are added together for a total.

  6. 3. Giant Slalom • similar to slalom • the gates are farther apart • the course is longer • The turns are not as sharp, the speeds are faster

  7. 4. Supergiant (Super G) • The youngest discipline • Combination of the speed and the technique • Similar to downhill
