  1. Insights Into Presenting MLA Citation Style It isn’t uncommon for students to fumble while citing sources in the MLA format citationstyle. This is because often they don’t have enough clarity about the guidelines of the citation. While some students use tools to generate citations in MLA format, it’s still imperative to know about the citation guidelines. On that note, the following are some insights that students may find useful. Works-Cited List in MLA style In the MLA citation format, the reference list is titled ‘Works-Cited List’. It lists out all the sources referenced within the document and includes the author's name, source title, date of publication and other information which differs based on the source type. Here are some of the essential requirements to create the works-cited page. It should be alphabetically arranged by adding the name of the first author (or title if there’s no author, and while alphabetising the title, articles can be excluded) All entries need to be double spaced Should include full references for all the sources used in the written text

  2. If you need more clarity on the works cited list, you can seek help on MLA format from a citation website. In-Text citation based on MLA style In-text citations must be added following the use of a paraphrase or quote taken from a different source. In-text citations are included within the main body of an academic document and refer to a direct quote or paraphrase. In-text citations are directly related to the “works cited” list. It contains the author’s surname, and the page, or page-range in which the reference can be found. The In-text citations ate directly incorporated after the quote or parenthetical or in a natural pause. Here’s an MLA format Citation example. Howard believes, “...” (236) In-text citation for multiple authors: In case you have to cite a source with 2-3 authors, all the names can be included along with the page number in the format mentioned below. (Crosby, Thomas, and Benson 127) For more than 3 authors, only the surname of the first author should be listed, followed by 'et al.': (Crosby et al. 127)
