  1. WILLIAM The main objective of WILLIAM is to support the advancement of “Internationalization at Home” strategies. Creating an international campus for the benefit of all students. WILLIAM functions as a collaborative incubator for developing greater understanding and implementation of Internationalization at Home within the Israeli context. Over a three year process, the consortium will work to set strategies across diverse institutions of higher education, test new ideas, establish standardized measures for success and disseminate best practices.

  4. In a world becoming exponentially more interconnected and technologically advance, the jobs of tomorrow can not be predicted…. • What can be predicted, necessity for: • English fluency • cross cultural skills • transversal skills

  5. Erasmus Impact Study on mobility in the EU (2014): Compared to students’ own qualifications before going abroad, upon their return they have increased that advantage by 42% (on average). Study abroad = opportunity to develop cross cultural skills, transversal skills, improve English.

  10. ‘Internationalization at Home’ is a top priority in the Council of Higher Education’s 5 year plan -Goal of 24,000 international students studying in Israel in 2022 from 11,000 in 2017. -Approximately 100 Million NIS was allocated for international development and 100 Million NIS for post-doctoral fellowships. -additional budget to programming to come – focus on primarily graduate students. -International students in Israel make up only 1.4% of students studying in Israel, a share significantly lower than average in OCED countries, which is approximately 9%. -WILLAM partners with CHE to analyze dataset

  21. IMPACT – 4 levels National Level: Promote a set of measures that support IaH strategies and policies across IL HEIs. Institutional Level: International student support services, through development of protocols/guidelines and social integration schemas. Faculty/Curriculum Level: Promoting virtual international classrooms and additional modules of internationalized learning as a means to engage faculty and students in international environments without having to go abroad. Student Level: International students feel safe and comfortable in their learning environment and host society. Local students are exposed to an international learning environment and gain skills that prepare them to function in an international setting.

Program for short visit to old city of Jerusalem: Thursday 28 February , From 7:30 to 13:00 We shall enter the old city through Yaffo gates and walk to visit the Church of the Holly Sepulcher in the Christian quarter . The church contains, according to traditions dating back to at least the fourth century, two of the holiest sites in Christianity: the site where Jesus of Nazareth was crucified , and Jesus' empty tomb, where he is said to have been buried and resurrected. We shall then continue our walk through the old city towards Davidson Center archeological park which is located nearby the Western Wall in the Old City. Davidson Center is one of the Jerusalem’s top tourist attractions due to its historical and archeological significance . You will see archaeological findings and displays from the First and Second Temple periods: the ancient city wall, the Temple’s staircase, a preserved ancient street, ritual immersion baths, and stores. It covers different periods and history including from the roman empire and the time of Jesus. Logistics: There is a 30 shekel admission fee to the park . Transportation will be provided from the Airport at 7:30 and returned to the airport around 14:00.
