The area we live in really needs a … I believe that here in the Macungie/ Emmaus area we need a healthy smoothie whop. • It would be something completely new for the area • A lot of people are starting to become health conscious so a healthy smoothie would be a great treat for everyone. • There are a lot of gyms in the area, but no real healthy places to eat or grab a snack at.

  3. Why in This Area? In this area we have a number of fitness gyms… OAA, Planet Fitness, Oxy Fit, and the high school gym I would look to set up my shop near one of local gyms because I would want to target a group of people who are clearly conscious of their health. By offering a sweet, nutritious, low fat and calorie treat that would be a quick snack for them to grab and go.

Rita’s, Cold Stone, or Smart Smoothies? • Variety of low calorie and low fat items • Something that everyone can enjoy • Quick to grab and keep going through the day • Fills you up for an easy snack • Healthier than a cup of ice cream or Italian Ice • Still a sweet treat We offer more variety than our competitors!

I would want my employees to enjoy what they are doing and enjoy coming to work every day. • Mon-Fri: 8am-10pm Sat: 8am-11pm Sun:10am-9pm • 4 hour shifts for employees (+1 hour on Sat) • Mon-Fri:3 on the clock at all times, Sat: 4 on the clock at all times, Sun: 2 on the clock at all times I would set the pay for minimum wage for all employees

  6. Logo and Slogan Logo: I would want something small but bright that would stick out in a customers mind. I would have a small smoothie cup with a neon pink straw sticking out of it with my shop name, Smart Smoothies across the cup in a bright neon orange. • Attention grabbing • Catchy • Also advertises the product

Slogan: For this I would also want something catchy that customers could easily and quickly remember off the top of their head. “ Smart Smoothies is your quick stop for a sweet treat.” I would print this on cups and napkins in the shop and also put it on the coupons I would offer and flyers I would put out.

  8. Raising Capital • First two days of opening, offer free samples to all customers coming and going by in front of the shop • First week • Ask employees to hand out ½ off first smoothie coupon to friends and family • Hand out coupons at local gas stations, and grocery stores

  9. Later after a few months I would want to start making ties with the local gym near me to offer deals for my smoothies for new gym memberships and for loyal customers. I would also want to start a card program whether it was a small card that is stamped every time a customer buys a smoothie, or an actual card that employees would scan at their registers so that customers would be able to earn points towards saving and spending on my product for their next visits. This would help encourage customer loyalty by giving back to the customers.

  10. Who am I Looking For I would want to target the people going to the gym. As explained they are already people who are health conscious but by offering them a quick snack that will benefit their health and cravings I think I would see a lot of traffic through my shop. There are so many young people signing up for gym memberships and it would be in my best interest to target this group.

  11. Why Smart Smoothies? • Offer more variety • Something quick • New for the area • Healthy but still sweet • Great for a quick snack or fill up Smart smoothies is looking to please customers while still offering a sweet treat that won’t break their diets.
