Sayamaike Historical MuseumPrespective Section: section description: The section on the long section is taken through the main gallery space, this is the deepest section of the structure (22m) and is a key analysis point in determining the infiltration of natural light. The short section on the right shows the variation of space depth and height as well as the spaces in which light passes through or between the water features. An important consideration with this building is the architects intentions to use light to directly represent the different surface qualities of the raw concrete and water feature areas. Because a large section of the building is below the level of finished ground sections to the lowest parts of the building allow analysis of the success of the architectural devices used, such as sky lights and split level openings. The layout of this building is very unique, a large section of build able site is occupied by a linear water feature which visually but not practically connects the interior spaces. By sectioning both sides of the divide it is possible to analyses both independently but still gain a comparative view. The renders produced with in these spaces have the potential to have very different qualities at different times of day, and reflection levels from the water ponds. (5/8/06)
