How Shopping Cart Works??? • It includes: database, storefront and admin area . • Creates pages in realtime when a customer visits the site. • Unlike static HTML pages ,the shopping cart pages don’t exist until a customer requests one. • The page is dynamically generated by web server by retrieving data from database.
Problems in Current System • KeshavInfotech is leading company for making E-commerce website. • Customers don’t have a place to store and manage multiple items and would have to order separately for every item they wish to purchase, which means repeating the buying process twice, thrice, or even more times. • Own shopping cart to make their customer feel comfortable. • Items that they had viewed are not available again.
Proposed New System • Web based system • Secure registration and Customer management facilities for Customers • Uploading ‘Most Purchased’ Items in each category of products in the Shop like Apparel, Kitchen accessories, Bath accessories, Food items etc. • Every items are saved to cart during logout. • People can do shopping for multiple items with multiple brand. • Order Notifications by email.
CONTINUED • Unlimited categories • Newsletter Management • Customer and store owner emailed order confirmations • Flexible product search capabilities • shipping methods available. • Feedback mechanism, so that customers can give feedback for the product or service which they have purchased. Also facility rating of individual products by relevant customersand customer can also comment on products.
CONTINUED • Support for calculating discounts • Provides Promotion facility • Wish lists • Payment Gateway(paypal).
Web Pages Client Side • Home • Login • Register • Contact us • About Us • Detail Page • View Cart • Checkout
Continue Admin Side • Home • Upload • Add Category • Add Brands • Manage Category • Manage Brands • Manage Items • Manage Promotions • Manage Customers
EXPECTED OUTCOME • The company will be having its own shopping cart for its e-commerce website. • The cart will be able to add multiple items. • Will be able to calculate bill of items all together.
DATABASE • Ms SQL • Tables: 1)Product 2)Shipping 3)Order 4)Category 5)Brand 6)Customer 7)Promotion
Future Enhancement • The current implementation does not take warehousing in its stride. In the upcoming versions warehousing will be done from within the ambits of the cart to lessen the burden for the vendors. • Dynamic price model by which prices can be changed based on demand and supply as well as possibility of special offers e.g.. Thanksgiving, from within the very ambits of the mall. • Dynamic Storefront: Each customer will have a web page personalized based on his or her recent purchases. This is the equivalent of having a unique storefront for each customer in hopes of drawing in as many return customers as possible. • Security logs though not implemented in this system would be well available through the respective database management system and web server software.
Conclusion • Website design is like a shop interior. • Though shopping cart software are available , but are expensive • Small business firms cant afford it • Make their own software.
