  2. 2002 Service Project • FACS 498 Professional Issues and Actions students designed several proposals for the FACS Department to consider for a service project. • Proposals were presented at a poster session and students voted on the one they would most like to participate in. • This year the proposal was for an Infant and Toddler Clothing Bank at BBCHS for teenage moms.

  3. Service Project • The proposal team was: • Denise Christian • Jennifer Cramer • Sally Quinlan • Heidi Fick • Bridget Rejholec

  4. Volunteers • Jennifer Cramer • Tabitha VonTrager • Sally Quinlan – SSFCS Service Representative • Denise Christian • Kim Wagner • Dr. Richardson • Deb Dion • Staci Allen • Mindy Birky • Amy Dillman

  5. The Closet • Cleanliness is next to godliness • Deb cleaned the closet. • Later Deb and Staci lined the closet with contact paper.

  6. Sorting • Denise and Amy sorted through donated clothing to size and check for good condition

  7. Sorting • Mindy, Amy, Staci, Kim, and Tabitha sorting and putting clothing into bins

  8. Labels • Tabitha checking the labels while others continue to sort through the bags of clothing donated.

  9. Presentations • Denise talking to students about financial aid and the importance of continuing their education. Jen and Sally looked on but also presented information on healthy diets.

  10. Time to Shop • Young mothers shopping the Clothing Bank with a little help from the SSFCS members.

  11. The Clothing Bank • Young moms can come use the clothing bank by signing up with the school nurse. • They can bring in used baby clothing and exchange them for new sizes or styles. • The purpose is to provide good clean used baby clothing. • Mrs. Bailey (BBCHS School Nurse) will be able to advise young moms on diet and exercise. She will take over the project now that we have it started.
