  4. 2D Animation 2D animation or 2D computer graphics is the computer-based generation of digital images. There are two types of 2D animations Cel Animation And Path Animation 3D Animation 3D animation is done through the use of Computer animation (CGI) There are several forms of 3D animation and 3D is more common today than 2D 3D animation is used in none fully animated films as well (i.e. Matrix, Jurassic Park, Batman, Star Wars) Job Opportunities

Career path • Animators have a wide variety of career fields they can choose to work in • The Gaming Industry is becoming more and more popular in modern media, and as such more animators are needed to bring life to their games, both 2D and 3D • The Movie Industry needs animators for special effects, making the unrealistic feats actors pretend to do seem more realistic. Also there have been movies where there is no human aspect, and the whole movie is in 3D • Cartoons, because someone has to make the shows we watch on Saturday mornings in our underwear while eating Captain Crunch

  7. Career Paths (cont.) • Working for yourself, taking work commissions and requests. Companies may contact you to create visuals for commercials or other forms of advertisements • Creating your own company, putting your videos online and being funded by companies who advertise on your channel / website. (YouTube, Newgrounds)

  8. LOCATIONS • Animators usually find more employment opportunities in areas of higher populations. More people equals more possible companies who would need animators. • For the animators who work for themselves, commission work would more often be found in high population cities Bls.gov

  9. DISNEY: If you could get a job at Disney, YOU SET FO’ LIFE. Even if you leave Disney, the experience and prestige of working there will almost guarantee a job elsewhere. Disney has been behind many classical movies, such as The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Mulan, STAR WARS?,….. SPIDERMAN? FREDARATOR: Animation studio making popular TV sereis such as The Fairly Odd Parents, My Life as a Teenage Robot, and Fanboy and ChumChum. Also has an online counterpart named CARTOON HANGOVER Companies

  10. Stuff You Do • You probably will be sitting at a desk or table in front of a computer…a lot. Get used to it • Creating and following a project time table • Animating (Duerrrrr.) • Working long nights to complete projects on time • Forsaking any thought of having a dating life • Dealing with customers and their wishes
