  2. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 “The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty, in God, for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and taking captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

  5. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 “The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty, in God, for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and taking captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

  6. Ephesians 6:12 “We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against powers, against the rulers of this present darkness, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in high places.”

  9. Connecting the dots • High places are Old Testament places of idol worship. • There is, in our lives, a battle against spiritual wickedness in high places. • There are high things in our lives that exalt themselves against the knowledge of God.

  10. Anything that is set up against the knowledge of God…( a high thing, which resides in a high place…) is idolatry.

  11. Isaiah 44:10 “Who but a fool would make his own god, an idol that cannot help him one bit?

  12. Isaiah 44:16 “He burns part of the tree to roast his meat and keep himself warm. He says “ah, that f ire feels good.” Then he takes what is left and makes his god, a carved idol.

  13. Isaiah 44:19 The person who made the idol never stops to reflect, “why, its just a block of wood! I burned half of it for heat and used it to bake my bread and roast my meat. How can the rest of it be a god?

  14. Isaiah 44:19 Should I bow down and worship a piece of wood?” The poor, deluded fool feeds on ashes. He trusts something that can’t help him at all. Yet he cannot bring himself to ask “Is this idol that I’m holding in my hand a lie?”

  15. Our enemy is SET UP against the knowledge of God.

  18. Micah 1:3 “Behold, the Lord comes out of His heavenly place, and will tread on the high places of the earth.”

  19. 2 Peter 1:3 “By His divine power, He has given us everything we need for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.”
