  2. Collecting Data on Intermediated Business with APRA - Getting Started with D2A Completing Form 701 Two modules are being provided to assist the getting started process. Getting started with D2A This is the second module

What is D2A • A flexible, secure and user-friendly electronic data submission system. • Provided free of charge by APRA. • Enables you to complete, validate and submit Form 701 securely to APRA in an encrypted form using a direct internet connection. • Data can be manually entered or imported directly into D2A from your own information systems. • Previously submitted data can be retrieved, reviewed and re-submitted.

  7. Authentication • Access to the forms within D2A requires 2 further steps: • Submission of a challenge letter • Electronic request via D2A

Submitting a challenge letter Must be printed on YOUR companies letterhead A separate letter for each person submitting data Download the template from our website at: Needs to be signed by an authorised person (not the person submitting data!) http://www.apra.gov.au/statistics/Lodging-Returns-GI-Intermediaries.cfm

  9. Electronic request via D2A Note: After installing D2A, before generating a security key, you MUST change your password. Then, submit your electronic request as below: Security  Generate Security Key Your challenge phrase – MUST match details shown on the challenge letter Your email address – MUST match details shown on the challenge letter A short name for the Security Key Your password, as changed from the default Note: More help on D2A is available via the D2A Help Guide located on the APRA website at: http://www.apra.gov.au/Statistics/D2A/Home.cfm

  10. Complete the Form Complete the form Validate the data Submit to APRA http://www.apra.gov.au/statistics/Lodging-Returns-GI-Intermediaries.cfm Instructions on how to complete the form can be found on the APRA website

  11. Form submission process 1. Open return Revise data 2. Enter or import data 3. validate return Yes 4. Any errors displayed Yes 5. Mandatory errors No 5. Confirmation errors Explain and confirm No 7. Submit to APRA

  12. Setup • Opening screen after authentication and download of licensee specific forms. • You will need to refresh your forms each time you intend to lodge a new return to ensure you are using the latest version. • You may need to liaise with your software supplier to determine any enhancements that they have completed in regards to Form 701.

  13. Functions in D2A • Double click desktop icon to open D2A or open from directory • You can use the menu at the top or the short cut buttons Note: not all functions will apply to Form 701

  14. Open the Form for the current period File  New OR Click this button Click to open the list Current period forms are available 8 weeks prior to submission due date

  15. Find the form in the list Select the period of return Click new with period selected Select the return name Click refresh for latest version of form

  16. Check the pre-filled details ABN of AFSL Name of AFSL End date of reporting period i.e. 30 Jun or 31 Dec AFSL number

  17. No data to report – A NIL return is required! Click in this box for a NIL return

  18. Complete Table 1 D2A will calculate the total of the rows and columns when form is validated If the total of row C is not 0 then table 2 must be completed Enter the premium in the correct column & row

  19. Save, Validate and submit Save your input, you can come back to it later or go onto validate the data Validate the data

  20. Submit and send to APRA Enter your D2A password (**** will be displayed) After any validation errors have been fixed submit the data
