Leadership • Providing clinical leadership to the London Trauma System • Ensuring all elements work together to form an inclusive trauma system • Monitoring performance and ensuring continuous improvement in the quality of care delivered at all stages of the trauma pathway • Developing future strategy • Coordinate research, education and training activities
Practical implications Set up the London Trauma Office to: • Oversee the implementation and operation of the London Trauma System • Develop and maintain the overall profile of London trauma services • Represent the London trauma system at appropriate forums • Provide clinical input to London Commissioning Group meetings • Report to the London Trauma Board and the London Medical Director • Provide an annual report
Monitoring • Develop a real time Clinical Coordination Function to monitor the incidence and flows of trauma patients • Develop and agree appropriate Performance Standards across the system • Monitor feedback on Performance Management from all 4 networks within the system • Provide updates to the London Trauma Board and Commissioning process
