  3. What is auxiliary? • Can include color guard, majorettes and dance • The visual representation of music • Auxiliary members express dynamic passages in the music

For members of the college band • “extended in recognition of musical achievement” • Purpose #2 • “A mutual interest in the Art of Music in its performance and in the aesthetic qualities it can project to others” • Essential Factor #5 • Important members • Jonathan Markowski – Nat’l VP for Communication & Recognition • Crystal Wright – SED Counselor

  5. Service • More help for your chapter • Auxiliary members want to help the band • Provides more service opportunities • Off-season activities such as winterguard, etc. • More recruitment opportunities • Reach a new group of potentials

  6. Music • Some auxiliary members can play instruments • Others have never learned • An opportunity to advance music • Some chapter by-laws require enrollment every semester • Auxiliaries can learn to play an instrument

  7. Auxiliary Award • Awarded to an outstanding visual performer enrolled or actively participating in a music-related group
