  1. Section 3-3 volcanic landforms Alexus Lucero Samantha Santillan Lizeth Moreno December 10, 2007

  2. Shield volcano • Lava piling on top of each other making a shield volcano. • These volcanoes have quiet eruptions.

  3. Cinder Cone Volcano • When this volcano erupts it piles up around the vent, this is a explosive eruption. • Then making a volcano called a cinder cone. • The Cinder Cone is the smallest volcano.

  4. Composite Volcano • This volcano is the tallest of these three volcanoes. • Also the one that takes the longest to form. • This volcano erupts quietly and explosive.

  5. Lava Plateaus • Lava plateaus is a high area above sea level. • Lava that comes out of the cracks on the floor.

  6. Calderas • A Caldera is a volcano that collapses inward. • All that should be left is lava and ash.

  7. Landforms from lava and ash • Land is formed when lava hardens. • Lava can also make volcanoes[shield , composite, and cinder cone volcanoes]

  8. Soils from lava and ash • When lava and ash comes it produces good soils for new life in the area

  9. Land forms from magma • Some landforms from magma are volcanic necks dikes ,and sills

  10. Volcanic neck • A volcanic neck is when magma hardens in the pipe. • It also ends up looking like a sharp tooth sticking out of the ground.

  11. Dike • A dike is magma that hardens across rock layers. • A dike creates more of earths crust,by spreading and hardening.

  12. Sill • A sill is when the magma squishes in layers of rock.

  13. Batholiths • A batholith is when magma cools inside the crust. • A big blob of magma that hardens on the earths crust.

  14. We learned • In this lesson we learned how to add pictures into the the slides. • Also how to use power point. • The most important thing is how to choose different slides.

  15. Presentation has title, mentions member’s names, and includes a complete date. Topic slides are well thought out, informative, full of details, and demonstrate a deep understanding of the subject. Presentation is very creative, animated, and uses many of the formatting techniques learned in class. Student helped gather the information, cooperated with the formatting, and helped the group stay focused by avoiding off-task behavior.
