WHAT IS YLC? • 3 high school (ISD 622 & ISD 832) • Small group of students • Lead & guide the direction of after school & summer programs • Funded by Community Education & Educational Equity Alliance
WHY YLC? Through enriching opportunities in leadership, service-learning, diversity and after school activities …. We strive for youth to develop skills necessary to prepare them for college, work and life.

Elementary Outreach We have served 600 Elementary Youth since January 2012
High School Outreach We have served 550 High School youth in: College Access activities, Peer Workshops & Recruited as Mentors
Staff & Community Awareness We have directly served close to 80 adults in our sparks time program & staff presentations We have indirectly served over 2,000 staff & community members with our video

YLC Recognitions • Red Wagon Award by Lt. Governor of MN • Presented to three Nobel Peace Prize Laureates • Youth Board members of national organizations • Selected as a US Delegate for a Girls Empowerment Seminar in Brazil

Focus Groups Purpose: To collect qualitative data to measure success as a result of participating in YLC; as well as find ways to improve our program Where? Room 101 & 103 – Adults Room 202 – YLC members Room 109 – Other children (Supervised play area)
