Caring Questions society, and is smart enough to realise Roseanne is not crazy and was only committed into the asylum on false reasons which is proven at the end Dr Grene (in chapter 2) ‘I have harboured a curiosity about her, but I have never delved into her life’ Intelligent Respectful ‘I am not so great a fool to think that all the ‘lunatics’ in here are made, or ever were.’ This may be relevant to the story because he is talking about how everything is connected, like Roseanne being his mother. In chapter 2 he talks about random things e.g. beans and going to the zoo. Unorthodox (in his methods) and strange ‘’Pythagoras’, he said, 'believed in the transmigration of the soul, and cautioned us to be careful when we ate beans in case we were eating the soul of our grandmother’’
