  4. Typical LCVP Activities • Invited Visitors • Site Visits • Case Studies • Work Experience • Using Computers • Video Interviews

  5. Link Modules Assessment • The Link Modules are assessed by written examination and portfolio

  6. Link Modules Assessment Portfolio of Coursework • Core Items • CV • Career Investigation • Enterprise/Action Plan • Summary Report • Options - any two from:- • Diary of Work Experience • Enterprise Report • Recorded Interview/Presentation • Report on “My Own Place”

  10. The LC exam in LCVP The Exam is generally held in early May and accounts for 40 % of your marks

  11. Link Modules Assessment Written Examination • Section A - Audio Visual • Video sequence of an enterprise • 30 marks • Section B - Case Study • Received 4 weeks in advance • 30 marks • Section C - General Questions • Choice of 4 questions from 6 • 100 marks

  16. LCVP RECOGNITION • Points from LCVP accepted in INSTITUTES OF TECHNOLOGY and UNIVERSITIES • From 2017 the LCVP will be worth: • Distinction 66 CAO points • Merit 46 CAO points • Pass 28 CAO points

POINTS TO NOTE • COURSE REQUIRES REGULAR ATTENDANCE • TEACHERS ACT AS FACILITATORS • MUST USE OWN INITIATIVE • PORTFOLIO MUST BE COMPLETED ON TIME • MUST BE COMMITTED TO COURSE • POSITIVE ATTITUDE ESSENTIAL • RESEARCH ON PREVIOUS LCVP STUDENTS IN OUR SCHOOL FOUND THAT 75%+ OF THE STUDENTS USED THE LCVP POINTS IN THEIR CAO APPLICATION
