  1. Preparing Your Schedule 14-1511th Grade Fill out your schedule sheets right now! Get parent/guardian and teacher’s signatures, then hand them in on Thursday Advisory (or NO later than December 13)

Required for 11th GradeMinimum 6 Credits Total English Language Arts – see back of schedule sheet for the complete list of courses U.S. History or AP U.S. History – see back of schedule sheet for the complete list of courses Any Physical Education course (DO NOT Sign up for current course – you cannot repeat for graduation requirement!)

  3. Electives!Think about After High School Two and four year colleges minimumrequirements are more than AASD requirements! • Minimum of 3 years of science and math (Algebra 2 or Adv Algebra) • Two years of World Language are required at some colleges (top universities want more) Fox Valley Technical College recommends you take 3-4 technical courses in high school • FVTC recommends 3 years of math, science and S.S. and 2 years of World Language. You can still attend technical colleges without, but you may have remedial classes before starting your program. • Look for FVTC “Advanced Standing” or “Credit” courses

Teacher Signatures! • Talk with your English teacher about what course is best for you – Have them sign your sheet! • Talk with your Math teacher about what course is best for you – Have them sign your sheet! • Talk with your Science teacher about what course is best for you – Have them sign your sheet! • Thinking About AP courses, have subject area teacher sign your sheet!

Electives for 11th Grade Many choices at the 11th Grade Level – Be sure to check to see if there is a prerequisite*! *Prerequisite means you cannot take this course unless other specific courses were taken earlier years. Science Course - ask your science teacher what course is best for you. (4-year colleges required a minimum 3 years of science) Math Course – ask your math teacher what course is best for you. (4-year colleges required a minimum 3 years of math and at least Advanced Algebra or Algebra 2 before you graduate) PFM or Economics is required for graduation junior or senior year Keep in mind a Fine Arts (Art, Music, Theatre) credit is needed for graduation. Must take a minimum of 6 credits (Take 6 ½ or 7 if you don’t want study halls) If you are struggling, only take 6 creditsand utilize your study hall!

  9. Youth Apprenticeship verses CTE As a Junior – you may be interested in Youth Apprenticeship! If interested, you have to apply! – You don’t just sign up for it. See Mr. Worley, Mrs. Van Camp, or your school counselor if you are interested and need more information. CTE Internship is ONLY available for seniors, so you are not eligible at this time!

  10. Have Questions? • On Thursday during Advisory – EVERY department will share information about courses in the gym. Select 3 or 4 areas you want more information, you will “speed course” in the gym! • Special Situations/ Not sure what to do? – Please make an appointment with your school counselor! • Turn sheets in ASAP to advisory teacheror case manager.
